The EASyCAP emergency alert system for cable TV, LPTV and video systems combines everything needed to deliver CAP based audio and video alerts in a one-box solution, including:
- EAS
- CAP
- Local access messages
- Audio/video peripherals
- Control over serial and network based devices
- Network protocols and interfaces
The EASyCAP solution can receive all of the required alert messages including local access messages for franchise agreements and can control all of the devices necessary to deliver the messages to system subscribers.
Flexible, powerful, open architecture platform
This next-gen solution not only handles all of today’s EAS requirements, but provides a flexible and expandable platform designed to accommodate requirements and features that may be needed in the future. As CAP standards and FEMA requirements continue to evolve, Trilithic’s innovative open architecture simplifies the process of making changes and adding new capabilities and features. All software and firmware can be upgraded across the Network connection. The EASyCAP platform utilizes common interfaces such as secure web servers and SNMP, so that common tools that users are familiar with can be used rather than installing and operating proprietary software.
EAS Encoder/Decoder
New features included in this platform include:
- Six input channels are provided to monitor for EAS messages, each input is configurable as external audio or an optional internal radio receiver.
- All EAS inputs are decoded simultaneously and overlapping alerts are stored until they can be processed to guarantee that all incoming alerts are received and processed
- Multiple user interfaces are provided to allow operators to encode EAS messages: front panel touch-screen LCD, telephone interface, general purpose inputs, and secure Web Server
CAP
This new platform is designed for next-generation EAS and is in compliance with all of the current CAP IPAWS standards. The EASyCAP platform allows multiple sources to be configured for receiving CAP alerts. Additional interfaces can be added as they are defined and required by FEMA, the FCC, individual State plans, and individual operators
The EASyCAP Premium Broadcast EncoderDecoder is designed for next-generation EAS and is in compliance with all of the current CAP IPAWS standards. This Premium EncoderDecoder can decode up to six (6) channels simultaneously and includes a 2.2 GHz Dual Core Processor, two (2) GB RAM, 40 GB Solid State Drive, two (2) 101001000 Ethernet Ports, four (4) USB ports, one (1) CG video output, one (1) analog video switch, six (6) general purpose outputs, two (2) TTL outputs, four (4) general purpose inputs, six (6) balanced 600 Ohm audio inputs, one (1) line input, one (1) line output, two (2) balanced 600 Ohm analog audio outputs, one (1) balanced 600 Ohm stereo analog switch, and two (2) RS-232 serial ports.
The B4020 Premium Broadcast EncoderDecoder includes the following expansion slots for optional hardware upgrades; two (2) AMFMNOAA Radio Receiver Expansion Slots, one (1) COM Expansion Board 1 or 2 Expansion Slot, one (1) AES-EBU Audio Board Expansion Slot, one (1) 16-Zone Routing Output Expansion Slot and one (1) PCIe Expansion Slot that will accomodate a 1, 4, or 16 lane PCIe card.

EAS Warranty & Return Service
Trilithic’s warranty policy for Emergency Alert Systems (EAS) Equipment extends for two (2) years from the date of shipment, If covers mistakes or deficiencies in materials and workmanship.
Exclusions from coverage are for any of the following events occurring after the product has
- Defects or damage resulting from improper operation, storage, misuse or abuse, accident or neglect
- Contact with liquid or extreme humidity, sand or any comparable substance, or extreme heat
- Use of the product for any use other than those prescribed in the Trilithic operating manual for EAS equipment
- Damage resulting from service or modifications performed by a person or firm other than Trilithic, In. or those authorized by Trilithic, Inc. to perform such service on EAS equipment, including, but not by way of limitation, any such damage resulting from installation, testing or other adjustments to hardware or software, and damage resulting from the use of accessories or peripherals not authorized by Trilithic, Inc. for use in and with its EAS equipment.
In The Event of Product Failure
If the EAS product is diagnosed as having failed for reasons other than the exclusions listed above, please call 888-895-7629 and request an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
All returned merchandise must have the symptom clearly identified in writing, signed by the authorized representative of the sender and attached to the failed product. All returned merchandise must bear the RMA Number clearly marked in large numerals on the outside of the shipping carton.

EAS products returned without an RMA number clearly marked are subject to a twenty percent (20%) processing fee.
Extended Hardware Warranty
Trilithic, Inc. offers an optional EAS warranty period extension of two (2) years on materials and five (5) years on workmanship from the expiration of the original warranty period. This option must be exercised at the time of the original product purchase.
